Assets Under Management (AUM) Data Warehouse Re-architecture
For an investment Bank we re-architected a Data Warehouse with $610 Billion Assets under Management. The re-architecture effort reduced the number of database instances from 6 to 1, greatly reducing the maintenance and production servicing costs. The centralized Data Warehouse located in Europe serves the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. The client data secrecy was handled with encryption mechanism to satisfy the data governance laws of different countries. The Data Warehouse calculates Sales by Product Sales Manager/Sales Manager, Assets under Management, Assets Managed, Assets Sourced and Fund of Funds, Production vs. Sales accounting. The dimensional model allows the business to slice the data in many ways to perform business analysis and reporting. The Data Warehouse also provides Sales and Assets information to Global MIS executive dashboard. The data warehouse leverages the power for Informatica and Oracle 10g to deliver optimal performance.

Technology partners to a progressive company that offers parking enforcement products and services
Benvia is a technology partner to a company which offers effective parking enforcement solutions that uses proprietary digital permits, intelligent on-street enforcement and collection tools, as well as Digital Chalking. By combining radio frequency (RF) information technology with proprietary handheld enforcement software, our client’s digital permit technology virtually guarantees the elimination of permit fraud and theft. As for on-street enforcement, the intelligent product combines mobile license plate recognition technology with intelligent immobilization. Our client’s product makes management simple and efficient. Supported by the 24/7 Call Center, client's web-based collection software makes tracking collections and parking enforcement officers' performance levels possible in real-time.
Our client’s software allows their customers to monitor all collections in real-time, with complete transparency. Mobile license plate reading and handheld RFID technologies provide instant proof of violations. Benvia is involved in software development, support and maintenance initiatives of the client and has been instrumental in helping client achieve cost saving without compromising on quality and efficiency.

Trade Confirm Delivery
For a brokerage firm, we provided a turnkey solution (a middleware java-based custom server) to process trade confirmations for delivery to clients via fax, emails and telex. This system receives MQ messages in SWIFT and other formats from different global divisions; converts the messages to HTML format, feeds the messages to a fax server, and reconciles them with status reports to the senders. Multi-threading and connection pooling were used to handle large volumes of messages. The system was implemented in a J2EE environment. This system has grown from handling 8,000 to 20,000 confirmations per day.

Pharma R&D portal
Our global pharmaceutical client manages several hundred concurrent R&D projects. We helped design and develop an intranet site which allows the client's top executives and managers to view summary data for all projects, and to easily navigate detailed project-specific data. We used Java reflection, application-defined metadata, and other data-driven programming techniques to keep the application's codebase remarkably small. The application has been a big success, and other divisions in the enterprise have since inquired about adding their data to the application.

Insurance Framework
For an insurance client, we were responsible for evolving UML-based analysis, design and implementation models using Rational Rose. The client's objective was to come up with a flexible and reusable framework for creating client-server applications for their sales force. The applications span multiple lines of business, including life insurance, annuities, auto insurance and home insurance. Analysis was done using the Rational approach, and object - oriented methodologies and design patterns (like Model-View-Controller, layering, n-tiered, command, façade, publisher-subscriber) were used. The framework was then used to build three applications. In addition to facilitating the implementation of these applications, the true benefit of this framework surfaced in the maintenance phase, which is usually the most expensive phase of software life cycle.

Healthcare Data Warehouse
For a healthcare knowledge company client, we helped design and implement an internet application which allows users to run analyses on patient-level clinical data in order to study the effectiveness of particular treatments. Users build sophisticated queries via a web interface, and report data is returned in image (GIF) and spreadsheet format. In addition to building the application, we also helped our client redesign the data warehouse schema in order to improve performance. This application has become a key product for our client.

Prospect Mgmt
For an insurance and securities client, we designed and implemented a sales automation middleware system, which processes high volumes of prospect inquiries from various channels and uses a rules engine to route the inquiries to the most appropriate sales representatives. The rules engine was implemented as a series of EJB's running in a Web Sphere container, and the XML messages are processed via MQ queues. The client saved on recurring resources involved in routing the prospects and ensured that all sales reps were being treated fairly and uniformly in terms of getting new leads.

Web Content Mgmt System
Client operates many e-commerce sites. We are developing a unique content management system as an intranet application which will allow our client to “componentize” and revision all web page content, including server-side logic. This system will streamline site maintenance and reduce the workload of our client's JSP coders, HTML writers and QA staff.

Pharma: Global Vocabulary Mgmt
We designed and developed a reusable servlet & JSP framework (MVC) for an integrated collection of enterprise intranet sites for a global pharmaceutical client. These sites are used to maintain our client's enterprise electronic vocabularies, to map existing vocabularies to newer global standards (MedDRA), and to decommission several legacy client-server applications.

Personalization
For an insurance and securities client, we designed and developed a web portal to personalize the user experience. Various information (including account data, stock quotes, weather, news and favorite links) was displayed in a unified view. The application makes extensive use of XML and XSL. This application was well received by our client's clients, and the Message Board on the application's main page has become a powerful marketing channel for our client.
